FAQ

How is TPT School Express different from School Access?
School Access offers unlimited use of a curated resource library for a flat fee for the duration of a school's subscription. TPT School Express gives admins control over budgets—teachers can purchase any resource from within the full TPT marketplace using funds preloaded by their school.

How is it different from TPT for Schools?
TPT for Schools relied on teachers submitting purchase requests that required admin approval. With TPT School Express, teachers can instantly purchase resources using their allocated funds—no approval flow needed. Note: Custom pricing and license transfers from TPT for Schools are not supported in this version.

How do I distribute school funds to my teachers?
Administrators can choose between two options: to allocate funds for each teacher or to use School Pool.
  • With individual allocation, you can distribute specific amounts to each teacher. This is the default setting when you first activate your account.
  • With School Pool, every teacher draws from a shared bank of funds to purchase resources on a first-come, first-served basis. There are no individual limits per teacher.
No matter which mode you choose, once the funds are allocated, teachers can use them to purchase resources without entering payment info. Funds expire after one year, if unused. If you load additional funds at any point, it will reset the expiration date.

How do I switch to School Pool mode?
To switch to School Pool mode, please: Visit the "People" tab on the TPT School Express homepage by clicking on your profile icon on the top right of the screen and then selecting "TPT School Express".

Click "Manage Roster". Then, select "Switch to School Pool" on the bottom left of the "Manage Roster" modal. Confirm the switch by clicking "Yes, switch to School Pool".

Note: only Primary Admins can switch the distribution method for their school.

What happens to existing funds when I switch to School Pool?
When you switch to School Pool mode, all unused individual allocations, plus any unallocated funds, will be moved to the School Pool.

Once you've switched to School Pool mode, all teachers will be able to purchase resources from the shared bank of funds. We recommend communicating that clearly with teachers and setting expectations to ensure fair and considerate use.

What kinds of controls do admins have?
Admins can set rules around what teachers can purchase—filtering by grade level, subjects, and more. They also manage budgets and teacher permissions from a single dashboard.

Can teachers use their existing TPT accounts?
Yes! They can link their current TPT account or create a new one after receiving an invite from their admin.

Do teachers earn credits for leaving reviews?
Yes—review credits go to the teacher's personal TPT account, regardless of whether the resource was purchased with school or personal funds.
