About the store

Experience

I am currently employed as a Reading Resource teacher working with students from PreK to Grade 5. I previously taught First Grade for 20 years and spent one year as a Kindergarten teacher.

Teaching style

I believe strongly in "time on task". I try to develop and utilize activities that require the whole group to be actively engaged in learning (using individual white boards, letter cards, signaling, etc). I have been working most recently on creating classroom tools/activities that incorporate visual, auditory, and kinesthetic modalities. I strive to be organized and I'm always seeking ways to better manage my classroom.

I was selected for inclusion in the 2004, 2005, and 2006 editions of Who's Who Among America's Teachers.

My own education history

I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. I received a Masters of Education from Saint Francis University.
