My husband and I have a combined total of 26 years of experience in education. I have 15 years education experience ranging from 1st - 5th grade in all subject areas, but my love is creating math materials for elementary school. I have been a math facilitator for the past 5 years at a Title I school in Texas where I have learned the importance of assessing students at the level of rigor needed to increase student achievement. Writing assessments is my expertise. My husband has been teaching high school Algebra, Algebra II, and PreCal for the past 13 years helping to increase Algebra scores from 40% to 80% in some sub population groups. We love the opportunity to share what we have created to help students be more successful.

Kindergarten RTI Progress Monitoring Numbers 6-10
I have created 5 Progress Monitoring Assessments for Kinder students who are struggling to master the numbers 6-10. I use these to gauge students progress as I work with them in a small group. They provide me the documentation I need for Tier 2 and Tier 3 students in the RTI process.
Each of the 5 assessments are VERY similar. I have just mixed up the numbers and changed the number of objects. Each assessment includes:

This 19 page section includes beginning of the year review pages I call Starting Blocks #1 and Starting Blocks #2. They provide a good review of basic math and allow a teacher to see where gaps or weaknesses may exist as the year is beginning. Also included are worksheets reviewing critical material called Cornerstone Algebra and Building Blocks. I like to use Building Blocks prior to solving equations and Cornerstone after solving equations.

You will notice from my work, that I am not into anything elaborate, My focus is on creating assessments that are aligned with the Texas TEKS and are strong, rigorous problems that prepare students for the state assessment they face each year.
