I post the cards around the room. Each student gets a recording page and a clipboard. At the top, the page says "Find Spider". They have to find the picture of the spider that says, "You found spider." Once they have found "spider", then they write it in the first blank. This is a great activity to use as you work on number sense and counting. There are four different levels, which means all the differentiation is done for you. Students work with partners and take turns rolling either 1, 2, 3, or 4 dice. They count the dots rolled and cover up the number on their game boards. When the board is covered, whoever has covered the most numbers wins. The game boards cover number ID/counting from 1-6, 2-12, 3-18, and 4-24.

Color words are some of the first words our Kindergarten students learn because there are so many fantastic children’s books that use color words and so many great songs that teach color word spellings! This write-the-room center, made with a Brown Bear, Brown Bear theme, allows students to show off what they’ve learned about color words.
