Civil Rights Movement in Pictures

One of my best sellers!

Introduce the Civil Rights Movement with vivid and powerful images to prompt discussion on the era in American History!

This Powerpoint is the best collection of pictures to lead a discussion on the key points of the Civil Rights Movement.

Many of the images are ones often seen in standardized testing and cover topics such as segregation, Brown versus Board of Education, the famous marches, Martin Luther King, Jr., Rosa Parks and the Montgomery Bus Boycott, the student movements (SNCC and CORE) and so much more.

No text included in this slide presentation for students, but commentary and spiral questions are included for teacher use - great for student led discussion or introduction to Civil Rights unit.

18 slides with multiple pictures on each, categorized by topic.

I used this in conjunction with the ESL students' textbook, which had a reading about Martin Luther King Jr. It was a good way to pair the reading with visual aids so the students could understand the content better, and it saved me loads of time!
