Samurai and the Code of Bushido
This activity focuses on the Samurai and Bushido, their code of conduct. Students begin the lesson by analyzing primary source images including paintings and Samurai armor. Then, students analyze excerpts from the earliest known description of the Samurai and the Code of Bushido. Finally, students will write a response to the question: What virtues were practiced by samurai warriors in feudal Japan?
