This is a bundle of 20 lessons that is designed to educate about the Black Civil Rights movement.

It starts with the origins of slavery, the Underground Railroad, the Civil War, legislation such as Plessy vs Ferguson and then examines a series of protests in the 1950's and 1960's.

Legal decisions include: Plessy v Ferguson, Brown v Board and the Civil Rights Act

Protests include: Montgomery Bus Boycott, Little Rock 9, Sit Ins, Freedom Riders, March on Washington and the Black Panthers

There is a range of worksheets, primary sources, mapping activities, handouts, glossaries, video clips and documentaries linked in that cover the Civil Rights movement and protests

This could also be used for IB History - History of the Americas or for Paper 1 Rights and Protest
