Description

This document includes 100 fifth grade STAAR-like math questions that have been created according to the format and rigor of the Texas state STAAR test that fifth graders must pass in order to be promoted to the sixth grade. The questions have been created using old release tests, but they are entirely different regarding content, answer choices, and answers. This resource includes grid-able answer scantrons as well as an aswer key. Based on my personal experience, this resource is not best used as a task cards set (even though it can be), but rather daily spiral review, exit tickets, or test prep boot camp. Either way, whole group or small group instruction are best fit. Not sure how this resource will work with your students? Download the 34-question preview and try it out with your students! The TEKS that are covered in this resource include:

I like to use these for my warm ups before we start the math block. It is helpful in aiding students in understanding how to break down word problems, along with deciding which mathematical operation to use.

A Lot of Errors
Rated 3 out of 5

My students and I have only gotten through 11 questions so far and we have found 3 questions with errors. 1 question is unsolvable, and 2 questions are errors in wording. Overall, it is useful so far for practice. I would love an editable file so I can correct errors along the way...

I used this with my tutoring group! I was able to pick and choose from a variety of TEKS that students struggled with. Thought the questions were on par with 5th grade.
