2 Step Equations Task Card Practice

There are several different ways to use this resource

· Whole group: project each card onto your screen and work each problem together as a class (definitely recommend at least doing the example card with them, so they have a model for the rest of the worksheet)

· Partner Pass – give each pair of students a card, they can work with their partner to complete the question. After a set amount of time, the partners can pass the card to the next group.

· Independent – tape the cards on the wall around the room. Students can work at their own pace and go from one card to the next, solving the problems on their sheet.

· Independent – print a copy of the cards for each student to work at their desk.

· Extension: have students come up with their own real world scenario involving a 2 step equation. Have them challenge their classmate to solve it and check their work.

· 2 different versions of the answer sheet are provided. One sheet has all 10 on one page, the other is meant to be front/back. Depending on how much room your students need to work out the problems.
