Description

These 15 fun, fresh math interactive notebook foldable activities will get your students excited about the 3rd Grade Common Core standards for geometry! Each foldable represents a standard in this category and allows for critical, creative thinking and application of knowledge.

Your students will be engaged and challenged as they practice concepts they are learning during this unit. Foldables include flip flap books, petal books, and more! These foldables will make a great addition to your students’ Math Interactive Notebooks!

Each foldable comes with a teacher page and a student page. The teacher page contains a photo of what the foldable will look like once assembled, an explanation of the activity, and foldable directions. The student pages contain a title label (which includes the Common Core Standard and an "I can..." statement related to the standard), along with activity instructions and the 1-2 page foldable.

The following standards are reviewed in this resource:

3.G.A.1: Understand that shapes in different categories may share attributes and that the shared attributes can define a larger category. Recognize rhombuses, rectangles, and squares as examples of quadrilaterals, and draw examples of quadrilaterals that do not belong to any of these subcategories.

3.G.A.2: Partition shapes into parts with equal areas. Express the area of each part as a unit fraction of the whole

This resource had so many different pieces to use! It was fairly easy for some above grade level 3rd graders, but worked perfectly for on-level and even below-level learners! This was great to supplement with our district curriculum to give students another chance to demonstrate understanding of the skill.
