Description

Here’s a BIG BUNDLE of my complete set of Spiral Daily Math (9 months; Sept-May) and a complete set of Daily Math Spiral Quizzes (36 quizzes) for 3rd Grade. With this winning combination, you can be sure that you and your students are staying ON TOP of all the Common Core math standards for 3rd Grade.

Spiral Math Review Every Month of the School Year

My Spiral Daily Math packs can be used for morning work, warm-ups, independent classwork, small group work – you decide! These popular monthly packs spiral all the 3rd Grade Common Core math standards in a fun and engaging way. Each month is a new adventure with new themes and new content. Be sure to look at the previews to get a glimpse at all 9 months (Sept - May).

Spiral Quizzes to Monitor Student Achievement

My Daily Math Spiral Quizzes give you a weekly quiz for each week of Daily Math. The quizzes are tied to the content of each week. There are three 10-item quizzes and a fourth cumulative quiz that covers content for the whole month. 9 months x 4 quizzes/month = 36 total quizzes to use throughout the year. Each month includes:

  • Quiz 1: 10 questions on content found in Days 1 - 5;
  • Quiz 2: 10 questions on content found in Days 1 – 10;
  • Quiz 3: 10 questions on content found in Days 1 – 15;
  • Quiz 4: Cumulative quiz that includes questions on all the CC standards from the month. This quiz is longer (20 questions) and includes the Common Core standard in the lower left corner of each question.

So Many Benefits to SPIRAL Quizzes

  • better skill retention—instead of assessing standards in isolation right after they're taught, spiral assessments assess skills repeatedly throughout the year. Repeated exposure means students are not given a chance to forget;
  • meaningful, standards-based data—because of the repetitive assessment of skills, teachers know exactly which standards are being met and which standards need more instruction;
  • improved student proficiency—spiral assessments build proficiency through repeated skill practice in varied ways;
  • improved test-taking skills—because students have seen a variety of question types assessing the same skill, they're better prepared for end-of-year exams;
  • better end-of-year test scores.

Ways to Use the Quizzes

  • as pretests;
  • as a Friday quiz, after a full week of Daily Math review;
  • Quizzes 1 – 3 as “practice” or take-home exercises and Quiz 4 (the cumulative quiz) for a grade;
  • or any combination that works for you and your students!

Also Included

  • Common Core Correlations Table that lists the standards included in each month of Daily Math. The spiral quizzes include questions on all the standards included in that month.
  • An [optional] Student Data Table – a record-keeping form for your use in recording grades.

I used this activity for morning work. I like that it was easy to prep and allowed the kids to be independent as they entered the classroom in the morning. The monthly packs are aligned to the Common Core standards, yet they are full of fun and engaging to work on. Great value for your dollar!

I am so excited for this bundle! My teaching partner introduced me to the Grade 5 Daily math and I can not wait to try the Grade 3 version in my classroom. I will be adapting some of it to fit the Alberta program of studies and some of the material will be bonus for my higher students, but I know all my students will get something out of this bundle!

Tell and write time to the nearest minute and measure time intervals in minutes. Solve word problems involving addition and subtraction of time intervals in minutes, e.g., by representing the problem on a number line diagram.
Measure and estimate liquid volumes and masses of objects using standard units of grams (g), kilograms (kg), and liters (l). Add, subtract, multiply, or divide to solve one-step word problems involving masses or volumes that are given in the same units, e.g., by using drawings (such as a beaker with a measurement scale) to represent the problem.
Draw a scaled picture graph and a scaled bar graph to represent a data set with several categories. Solve one- and two-step “how many more” and “how many less” problems using information presented in scaled bar graphs. For example, draw a bar graph in which each square in the bar graph might represent 5 pets.
