This boom deck gives independent practice for a very challenging math skill - solving two-step step word problems!
This Boom card product includes:
- An introduction slide reviewing clue words used in problem solving
- 10 fill-in multi-step word problems using addition, subtraction, and multiplication
- 10 hint cards to help student who are "stuck"
- An answer document to record work

A key feature of this deck is that it has 10 hint cards helpful scaffolding students so they can complete two-step word problems independently. This means no more getting overwhelmed answering questions at your desk. If a student needs help, there is an "SOS" button that takes them to a slide which helps the student focus on the numbers and clue words used in each question. This guides students to the operation (addition, subtraction, or multiplication) related to each word in the problem. Students build resilience as the questions increase slightly in difficulty as they move from question to question.

Math standard:
Solve two-step word problems using the four operations. Represent these problems using equations with a letter standing for the unknown quantity. Assess the reasonableness of answers using mental computation and estimation strategies including rounding.
