Description

Are your students involved in journaling during math class? Mathematical writing is essential in order for your students to meet the mathematical standards. In order for your student to construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others, they need time to practice writing weekly!

This resource aligns with the Common Core Standards and enVision Math 2.0. There are 40 writing prompts to last you the whole year. There are 1-4 prompts per math topic depending on the length of the topic. I also included a math taxonomy, so that your students can add different mathematical terms they learn throughout the year! This product can also be used for online learning! :-)

I hope you enjoy using this resource and seeing your students grow throughout the year!

If you are satisfied with your purchase, I would love for you to leave me a review and feedback. Please let me know if you find any mistakes that need to be corrected! :-)

Use the four operations to solve word problems involving distances, intervals of time, liquid volumes, masses of objects, and money, including problems involving simple fractions or decimals, and problems that require expressing measurements given in a larger unit in terms of a smaller unit. Represent measurement quantities using diagrams such as number line diagrams that feature a measurement scale.
Apply the area and perimeter formulas for rectangles in real world and mathematical problems. For example, find the width of a rectangular room given the area of the flooring and the length, by viewing the area formula as a multiplication equation with an unknown factor.
Recognize angles as geometric shapes that are formed wherever two rays share a common endpoint, and understand concepts of angle measurement:
