This bundle of 6 Google Slides place value math lessons for 4th grade (CCSS) is great for building number sense and conceptual understanding of our base ten number system. Each lesson includes practice problems (just click to reveal the solutions and answers) with access to a free printable worksheets!
Lessons include:
- place value - explores the names of places and value of digits up to the hundred thousands place (6 digits)
- base ten - explains, with concrete modeling, how each time a digit moves to the left in a number, its worth 10 times more
- standard, expanded, and word form - demonstrates how to write numbers in each of the three forms
- comparing numbers - introduces greater than, less than, and equal signs and demonstrates how to use place value to compare numbers written in standard, expanded, and word form
- rounding numbers - explains how to round numbers (up to the hundred thousands place) using number lines and the rounding rules
- what number am I? - this fun activity has students determine the value of a number using base then blocks and their understanding of place value
