Description

This download contains all 5th grade Module 1-6 application problems from the Engage NY Eureka Math program in 52 total pages (includes front covers for each module. I tried another teacher’s packet (116 pages) my first semester but I had to print off 1 page for each application problem (total of 16 pages for module 1 alone) which took up almost my entire months copy allowance, so moving forward I knew I needed to figure something else out. Therefore, I decided to create my own packets but this time instead of only 1 question per page I tried to put as many as I could per page but still have enough room for students to show their work.

I had students draw a line down the center and show their work on the left and then when we went over the problem together they would copy what I had on the board on the right. This way they could compare how they solved the problem to how it was solved on the board. My students could then find their own mistakes if they had any. This also allowed me to show student work on the projector because some students solved the question correctly but used a different strategy.

All together I was able to create this packet in 52 pages including the front cover for all module 1-6 application problems compared to 116 pages. That is a savings of 6,500 copies (based on 100 students) That is a lot especially when you have upwards of 100 students like I do. The following is a break-down of how many pages there are for each module’s application problems that I created compared to other application problem packets created by others including how many copies I am saving you per module.

Module 1: 7 pages Compared to 16 pages Saving you 900 copies

Module 2: 10 pages Compared to 25 pages Saving you 1,500 copies

Module 3: 7 pages Compared to 13 pages Saving you 600 copies

Module 4: 11 pages Compared to 25 pages Saving you 1,400 copies

Module 5: 6 pages Compared to 15 pages Saving you 900 copies

Module 6: 9 pages Compared to 21 pages Saving you 1,200 copies
