Description

This download contains 6th grade math Modules 4 Topic A-H Interactive Notebook. This download contains 6th grade math Modules 5 Topic A-D Interactive Notebook. Covers Area of Triangles, Quadrilaterals, Polygons, Distance & Perimeter on the Coordinate Plane, Volume with Fractional Edge Lengths, and Nets & Surface Area.

Why did I create these interactive notebooks/booklets?

Answer: Students need to have a notebook devoted to notes regarding the math standards being taught. What I came to realize years ago is that although most students do their best to take good notes they simply are still young and learning how to take good notes. Many times I had students say they didn’t complete their homework because they couldn’t remember how to complete the problem…the steps to take to solve. Well, to help students I started to create inserts that I would print off and then cut up and give to them to glue, tape, or staple into their composition notebooks.

Unfortunately, some inserts wouldn’t stick and they would lose them and need me to give them another. I ended up having all these folders with different inserts to go with different lessons and it was honestly becoming a huge undertaking to keep track of them and hand them out throughout the year. That is when it hit me…put them all together in one nice little booklet for each Module. Students could still take their own notes but this way they had all the inserts together and on top of that by module…no more inserts being misplaced or stuck on the wrong page/different module. Also, no more time spent cutting out all those inserts throughout the year…instead I can print out these little booklets six times a year.

Students could not only have all their I can statements and vocabulary to refer back to, especially when they were not in the classroom but also a table of contents that made it easier for them to find just the right note to help them solve a problem. Students could more easily do their homework, study for tests, and help them review later in the year and go “Oh yea…I remember that now…”

How are they different than other interactive notebooks being offered from others?

Answer: Very few, if any, are fill in the blank…this booklet I created show all the steps for solving a problem they may encounter while going through each lesson, topic, module. There are NO foldables…honestly a great resource but given that I only had 55 minutes per class I rarely had time to use them. No cut outs, and best yet…after spending hours trying to figure it out, I was able to put a booklet together in a way that you can simply print and after printing out 10 pages you simply just fold it in half and viola you have a booklet. So simply put, they are different because they are little booklet’s, by Module, that includes what students need to help them when they are on their own…great resource for slow learners, students with IEPs, virtual learning, as well as in the classroom.
