Description
This download contains 6th grade math Module 6 Topic B Lessons 9-11 PowerPoint Lessons from the Engage NY Eureka Math program, and self-made using other various resources (Total 106 slides). Topic B mainly covers the following: MAD (Mean absolute deviation)
I created/put these PowerPoint lessons together to help me lead my lessons and make sure I covered all the things required such as objective, I “can” statements, vocabulary, lesson summary and exit ticket. Each lesson I pulled out what I felt I needed or could use in the time I had. I had to combine some lessons to keep up with the pacing guide provided to me from my school district. Remember that all Eureka lessons can be found on their website for FREE…this product is my own lesson plan on how I taught the lessons.
To be honest, I didn’t use this PowerPoint until the very end because learning MAD wasn’t something students would really see on their end of year test because it is really to prepare them more for 7th grade and involved negative numbers (example: |8 – 11|). Therefore, you can use and follow the Eureka suggestion of teaching this prior to MMMR (Mean, Median, Mode, and Range) but I thought it was best to teach Topic C MMMR first.
When I did teach this lesson there were some items I have put in I ended up skipping due to time constraints but I always tried to make sure I had plenty to do so don’t be surprised if you have to skip a few examples/exercises to keep in your timeframe. Either way, these kept my lessons flowing, students engaged throughout, and I have all the answers included so you won’t have to solve anything. FYI: If you are looking for PowerPoint lessons that are simply cut and paste from Eureka then these are NOT the PowerPoint lessons for you.
I have 8 years teaching experience (1 year teaching 9th-10th grade health, 6 years teaching 5th grade math, and just finished my 1st year teaching 6th grade math). I have been a level 5 teacher for the past 6 years.
Below I have listed what you will be getting in this download.
