Description
This Connect Four math game includes a printable and Google slides version. Students add and subtract rational numbers as they try to become the first player to connect four consecutive spaces on their game board. Problems include adding and subtracting positive and negative fractions and mixed numbers.
It is intended for 8th grade math classrooms. The game is played in small groups or partners (2-6 players). This product includes:
1) Rules of Play and Instructions
2) 6 Add and Subtract Rational Numbers Game Boards
3) 16 Add and Subtract Rational Numbers Playing Cards
4) 3 Add and Subtract Rational Numbers Answer Sheets
5) Link to a Google slides edition of game boards and playing cards
In the Connect Four game, students flip over a playing card and must solve the problem on the card. Once a student gets their answer, they must cover up that answer on their board. The first person to get four in a row wins the game.
*Note: Cards can easily be omitted from game play if there are specific types of problems that you don't cover with your students.
