Share

Description

Hello wonderful teachers, I will be uploading 1 remote lesson per day. All directions are given on the first page of the download.

You should not download this lesson if your students do not have access to Google Classroom and to YouTube.

Each lesson consists of 4 sections:

Section 1: Background & Introductory Information + questions

Section 2: A video + questions

Section 3: Links to online practice

Section 4: Link to a Google Form 5 question, CCSS aligned quiz

The Google document should be uploaded in a way to ensure each student has a copy, hopefully this makes your grading easier.

Please reach out with questions.

The quizizz link attached to the google form expires on April 23, 2020. If you plan to use this lesson, please use this link to access the quizizz, and link it back in Section 3 so students can access. To do this, I believe you will have to make a free quizizz profile, then the link above will take you to the quizizz, you click "assign as HW", then attach the resulting link to Section 3.

Use rational approximations of irrational numbers to compare the size of irrational numbers, locate them approximately on a number line diagram, and estimate the value of expressions (e.g., π²). For example, by truncating the decimal expansion of √2, show that √2 is between 1 and 2, then between 1.4 and 1.5, and explain how to continue on to get better approximations.
