A Racial Divide: 2 Week ELA Digital Learning Unit: Middle School Reading and Writing: This is a ~2 week themed digital learning unit for 7th/8th Grade ELA and is themed around the topic of "A Racial Divide." This unit is perfect for Black History Month, discussions of inclusion and race, Social Studies Civil Rights unit, etc. This is a combination of both informational and literary text that promotes higher order thinking skills through challenging assessment questions, socratic discussion, text analysis, comprehension questions, engaging videos, activities, and more. Tips: Copy and edit as you wish! Put your own twist on this. Customize in any way you like. Add to your class Google Classroom and make a copy of the unit for each student. They will work and answer questions, prompts, and type their essay within the digital unit. Grade pieces as you go, or have students turn in the digital unit at the end of the unit. This is fun and flexible.
