After teaching students how to have proper academic conversations, teach them how to use those skills in content.

This series is specifically for writing, specifically during that crucial peer-review/editing time. It was created with the Write From the Beginning Strategies

Included in this PowerPoint is:

  • Established conversation norms
  • Academic conversation visual
  • Standards, objectives, and essential questions
  • Graphic organizers
  • Articles for students to close read and discuss
  • Youtube video links
  • Prewriting examples
  • Pre-made questions for students to "ask" during modeling
  • Reflection worksheets
  • Reflection questions
  • Recorded reading of writing
  • Peer editing sheets

This needs to be taught after the Academic Conversation unit (or something similar)

Pair this with my Academic Conversations Resources to build truly dynamic listeners, speakers, and writers!
