"I love this game! I bought two of these games and plan to buy more. The kids love the monsters and also doing the math problems. They love when their favorite monster comes up in the deck. I love the easy prep and instructions. "

Description

This fun math center card game will give your students extra practice adding up multi-digit numbers in an engaging way. These MathEmonSters with silly names will battle it out in the style of the "War" card game.

Students must calculate the answer to their power equation (addition of multi-digit numbers) and call it out during the duel. Students can show their work on a recording sheet. Center game rules and an answer key are also included.

Differentiation Options: For an easier game, play only with cards numbered 1 - 27 as they DO NOT require regrouping. Cards numbered 28 - 45 DO require regrouping. Cards numbered 46 - 63 require multiple regrouping.

Please take a look at the PREVIEW above to see more details.

My kids had a hard time understanding the game until I said it was like WAR with addition. Then they were all about it. Problem is - they are not good enough to check each other's work quick enough ... so I had to change how they played the game. Do you have these in Subtraction with multi-digit and regrouping? Multiplication? These would be great in all the standards as station and review games.

Yes, it is just like the War card game. You can print the answer key out and have the students check their answers against that rather than checking each other's work. I'm happy to hear that they enjoyed it! I'm currently working on the subtraction deck. I do plan to continue making more decks as well. :)
