Let students practice AREA OF RECTILINEAR FIGURES by adding areas of irregular or composite rectangles, comparing areas of rectilinear shapes, finding missing side lengths, and completing equations with these no prep, LEVELED task cards either traditionally or as a SCOOT game to make differentiated instruction easy!

The cards are color coded and labeled level 1, 2, or 3 to meet your students' needs whether they are on-, below-, or above-level as follows:

  • Level 1 - Find the total area of a rectangle or rectilinear figure by breaking the shape into 2 rectangles and adding the areas.

  • Level 2 - Compare the areas of 2 rectangles that have been broken into two parts; or given 2 rectangles with equal areas, find the missing length of the rectangle that has been broken into two parts.

  • Level 3 - Complete an equation to show the area of rectilinear figures that have been split into pieces.

Great to use for math centers, math workshop, small groups, RTI intervention, independent or partner practice, and early finishers.
