Students will simplify complex numbers in this winter themed printable task card set. Both addition and subtraction of complex numbers are included requiring students to combine real numbers and imaginary numbers. Students can add and subtract complex numbers by sorting the question and answer cards or use only the question cards for various activities including quiz, quiz, trade and scoot. This is a low prep activity. An answer key has also been provided.

• Problems 1-16: adding and subtracting two imaginary numbers
• Problems 17-20: adding and subtracting two imaginary numbers with one real number
• Some problems do required knowledge of the distributive property.
