Description

Help your students master their addition facts with this set of flashcards and timed tests. This NO PREP addition fluency BUNDLE provides flashcards for practice and speed drills to improve addition fact fluency for facts +0 through +10.

This bundle includes:

*11 Addition flashcard sets

*11 Corresponding fact tests

*8 Addition review fact tests to build mastery.

A key is included for easy grading.

✅ This bundle is part of the MIGHT Math Facts Fluency Program. This program is designed to use flashcards and timed tests to sequentially build mastery of the addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division facts. It encourages repeated flashcard drill, regular testing, and built-in review of the facts so students' fact fluency is immediate and accurate by the end of the program.

✅ You may be asking: Why flashcards and timed tests? Rote memorization is not very popular these days. However, while rote memorization is not a good way for long-term retention of concepts, it's great for something that needs to become habit, such as learning the alphabet or a poem, or, in this case, learning math facts. Repetition and practice will move information stored in short-term memory to long-term memory. In the case of math facts, it's important to store facts in long term memory since much of math is based on the basic math facts. Once students know their basic facts, learning higher math concepts and solving more complicated math problems becomes easier. Students no longer need to count on their fingers or use counters to solve math problems; they just know the answer and can continue on working through any given math concept.

Solve addition and subtraction word problems, and add and subtract within 10, e.g., by using objects or drawings to represent the problem.
Add and subtract within 20, demonstrating fluency for addition and subtraction within 10. Use strategies such as counting on; making ten (e.g., 8 + 6 = 8 + 2 + 4 = 10 + 4 = 14); decomposing a number leading to a ten (e.g., 13 - 4 = 13 - 3 - 1 = 10 - 1 = 9); using the relationship between addition and subtraction (e.g., knowing that 8 + 4 = 12, one knows 12 - 8 = 4); and creating equivalent but easier or known sums (e.g., adding 6 + 7 by creating the known equivalent 6 + 6 + 1 = 12 + 1 = 13).
