Description

This is a set of 32 task cards that can be used in many different ways to enhance your students’ understanding of addition. Included standard algorithm & word problems!

These task cards were designed to help identify where students can used some extra help. Each task card has a certain type of problem on it. Download this FREE resource to discover more about how

Task cards 1 – 16 are straight computations while cards 17 – 32 are story problems. There are 4 different types of story problems in these task cards. They are listed below with an example of each.

Joint, Result Unknown (JRU)

•For example: Irene has 3 marbles. She finds 5 more marbles. How many marbles does she have now?

Part – Part Whole (PPW)

•For example: Kai has 4 blue marbles and 3 yellow marbles. How many marbles does he have all together?

Separate Start Unknown (SSU)

•For example: Mya has some marbles. She gives 6 to her friend. Now she has 8 marbles. How many marbles did have to begin with?

Compare, Quantity Unknown (CQU)

•For example: Gia has 3 marbles. Joe has 4 more marbles than Gia. How many marbles does Joe have?

Great resource. I do wish it had more of the higher digit numbers for adding. Majority of the cards are in the hundreds to the thousands.
