Description
2nd grade students are expected to add and subtract to 1000 using place value strategies. This unit takes a step toward that goal by adding 3-digit numbers with sums to 1000 with and without regrouping.

Students will use concrete, hands-on materials including base ten blocks and place value disks. Digital manipulatives have also been provided. Additionally, students will use the representational model of drawing dots on a place value chart to add. Students will relate these models to a written method.

Pre and Post Assessment Materials that mirror one another will allow you to see where your students began and how far they have progressed. I have also included daily exit tickets and a tracking form so that you can easily monitor each of your students.
