Description

Printable & Digital Version included

This product contains 28 task cards. Students will find the additive volume of 28 different composite figures. You can either print the task cards as a PDF or use the included Google Slides link to assign to Google Classroom.

I have used this product in many ways in my classroom. Task cards are great for centers, finished early tasks, scoot, and warm-ups. My favorite way is to do “Quiz, Quiz, Trade”. I write the answers on the back of the cards, laminate them, and give one card to each student. Students work with a dry erase marker to decompose the figures, find the volume of each piece, and then find the total volume. Students check their answer on the back of the card and rework the problem if necessary. Then, they find a partner to quiz, check their work, and trade cards.

However you choose to use these cards, your students are sure to get some rigorous practice with volume. Enjoy!

My students loved using this for an engaging activity over additive volume! I put the cards all over the room and students paired up with a partner and went around the room solving.

There are very few resources available for additive volume, and this was a great activity! You can use task cards so many different ways.
