This 9 day unit will reinforce your students understanding of the process that web designers go through to write a three to four page HTML website to create an interactive website by creating a cohesive website on a topic of their interest.

There are a lot of different methods and programs to create a website but in my opinion notepad really allows the students to focus on demonstrating knowledge of codes but also allows a lot of creativity depending on the range of your student’s abilities.

This unit starts out with a walking the students through the planning packet to plan out their website. After the students have the basic layout or plan down they go through the process of creating and image mapping a website banner and then putting together the website with three different notepad pages that all link together.

This unit is a 9 day unit that can be adjusted to fit your class’s needs and pace.
In this unit you will have:
• Lesson plan, which includes a day by day breakdown of how I teach this lesson
• And the corresponding powerpoint that follows the breakdown of the lesson.
• A rubric for how to grade the Media Project with planning pages for students to layout their design before they start working with the codes.
• A HTML cheat sheet, I used to keep these in sheet protectors at each computer so they had easy access.
• Blank peer feedback forms for a gallery walk at the end of the project and a peer to peer feedback form if you wanted to do an earlier check in.
• A HTML Poster activity for classes that wrap up early.
