Description
One of the most frustrating parts about teaching Python is that it has very little 'glitz and glamour' to entertain kids and keep their interest! Yes, of course, there are kids who desperately want to learn to code and they'll take your class anyway, but most kids need a carrot or two to keep them interested! The Turtle module adds that special ZIP that kids crave!
That's the purpose of this unit. It starts off a bit dry with user input, lists and tuples, but it quickly gets more interesting when you add in graphics, mouse & keyboard events, sound and MP3 capabilities.
NOTE: Python Turtle Unit 2 Graphics & For Loops and Python Turtle Unit 3 Animation are strongly recommended!
Materials have also been modified in English (UK) where necessary.
