Description

In each of the 8 linear relationships the students will be presented with an overview of a linear relationship between two variables.

Additional information will be presented to the students in the form of a verbal description, table, graph, or equation that is a representation of the relationship. Students will typically be asked to create another matching representation and then be asked several concept and application questions related to the relationship.

The intent of these lessons is to reinforce the concept that multiple representations of a linear relationship can be connected and then applied to develop solutions to problems. In addition, many of the relationships are related to topics taught in a typical middle school science class providing an opportunity for students to make connections across the curriculum.
