Description

This is a bundle of Math About Me and Science About Me, for use with Google Slides.

Find printable All About Me pennants here.

All About Me Math DETAILS

Start off your school year with a getting to know you activity that is centered around all things math! Solve the problem of which ice breaker activity to use on your first day. Students will express themselves mathematically to show the sum total of their likes, dislikes, and personality. Once they are all completed, students can compare banners to see similarities and differences.

A twist on an All About Me activity, have your students fill these in using mathematical expressions or alternative number systems. This is a great time to learn about binary, hexadecimal, quinary, roman numerals, mayan numbers, or other number systems you may enjoy!

What You'll Get

  • Teacher Notes and Instructions
  • Number Systems Slides
  • Binary, Hexadecimal, Quinary
  • Roman Numerals
  • Mayan Number Chart

  • Movable objects to complete the All About Me slide. Students will use tech skills to enter information, copy and paste objects, etc. They can also add their own elements to the design. Instructions and text are editable.

All About Me Science DETAILS

No matter how you start off the school year, All About Me Science is one solution to get to know your students. They won't be sharing anything about their culture in this activity, but they will explore other concepts, which can be used as a springboard into various activities, such as:

  • the solar system
  • genetics and traits (fingerprints, eye color, etc.)
  • animal traits or adaptations
  • senses or body systems (circulatory, respiratory, skeletal, etc.)
  • weather

Students will choose from provided options and hone their tech skills while creating a science slide about themselves!

Take this activity one step further by collecting the information and creating graphs about the data.

  • How many or what percentage of students are left-handed?
  • How many or what percentage of students have blue eyes?
  • How many or what percentage of students can both roll their tongue AND raise an eyebrow?

Use with Google Drive and Google Classroom

This resource is designed to be used with Google Slides but you could also download the slides to PowerPoint if desired.
