Test out your students puzzle decoding skills with this Ancient Rome Task Cards Puzzle Breakout. This activity gets students out of their seat and moving around the room! The printable task card puzzles includes 6 stations. Each station has 4 questions for a total of 24 questions related to Ancient Rome.

Topics include: Colosseum, Julius Caesar, Romulus and Remus myth, Pompeii, Augustus and Spartacus

Students race to see who can get the final codes! A friendly competition always increases engagement. Students will roam around the room looking for task cards sort of like a scavenger hunt! You can hang the task cards on the wall, throw them on the floor, place them on desks or pass them amongst students. Each answer will be decoded and recorded on a student answer sheet. This activity can be used as task cards, partner activities, SCOOT activities, scavenger hunts, anticipatory sets, unit review, sub plans, stations, or independent work. How you choose to set it up in your classroom is up to you. There are so many possibilities that allow students to be out of their seats, moving around the room and learning!

When teaching ancient civilizations to 6th graders having a fun and engaging activity for them to use as review is always great. My scholars enjoyed using the breakout room along with their notetaking foldables to solve the clues.
