Description

You are purchasing an editable set of Google Slides. It is a cooperative learning task designed for students in groups of four. Student work independently, however the group becomes interdependent on everyone's cooperation and dedication to learning the vocabulary. Here are the directions. The Quizlet link identifies some of the vocabulary words.

Each student  will be given a task card and 6 Vocabulary word cards.

The object of this task is to correctly place 6 vocabulary cards on each task card.  You may or may not have the vocabulary cards you need to correctly complete the task card in front of you at the start of the activity.

There are a few rules to make the exercise more fun.

Phase One (3 minutes)

1. This phase of the task must be played in complete silence. No talking.

2. Each student must complete their own task card. No one else may show a student how to do it or do it for them.

3. At any time, you may silently offer to trade a vocabulary  card with another student.  Simply make eye contact with another student, reach across and offer your vocabulary card.  If they accept your offer, they must choose one of their vocabulary cards to give to you in return.  REMEMBER:  This may or may not be a solution for your task card.

4. Students may trade as many times as they would like.

5. You are not finished until all task cards are complete , so, cooperation is key when a trade is offered.

Phase Two (3 minutes)

At this time, everyone please leave your matched vocabulary terms on your task card, stand up and rotate one desk to your left (clockwise).  You now have a new task  card.  If the task card is incomplete, begin working to complete the task.  If the task card is complete, begin checking the placement of the vocabulary cards.  Keep in mind, if a vocabulary card has been placed incorrectly, then someone on your team cannot complete their task card!

NOTE:  The same rules from Phase One still apply!!! No talking!

Phase Three (3 minutes)-

Last move!  All students stand up and move to left (clockwise) to the next task card.  During this phase, your team will be allowed to talk and work together to complete ALL four task cards.  As a team, when you feel you are finished, raise your hands.
