Description

For years I've had my students reflect in our journals, answering prompts and sharing their responses with our class family in order to build relationships with their peers. This year I branched out and started asking questions throughout the entire week, instead of just random moments, sometimes reflective prompts, other times silly, for the same reason. I want my students to talk and be engaged. I want them to share about themselves and learn about others. It really brings my classroom together.

Give me a whiteboard marker though, and I'm not artistic. If I wait until the morning to set up the whiteboard prompt, I usually draw a blank as to what to write. My goal is to make an entire year worth of prompts that I can either display on my projector (and students write on their whiteboards or use the included response slips), or I can print the prompts, laminate, and stick them on the board. I need this to be easy because I've seen how much of an impact it has made in my classroom.

This is the first set of my Morning Messages series. Included are 20 different prompts (full color background) and 20 specific response slips. This specific set is not tied to any holiday or season, and could be used year round, and even multiple times, as student responses may change as the year progresses. Please check out the preview to see every single page included.

Other info: The prompts are based on the Monday through Friday schedule, and many use alliterations for each day. (Marvelous Monday, Tried it Tuesday, Wednesday Wishes, Thursday Thinkers, Friday Friendships, etc...)

Beautiful ideas and thought provoking questions! It would be nice if these were editable because I don't see my students every day but would love to use e.g. a Tuesday message on a Wednesday.
