This is a mini-unit for teaching Common Core area and perimeter relationships. It covers the following concepts:

-how to make rectangles with the same area and different perimeters

-how to make rectangles with the same perimeter and different areas

-hands- on practice for both types of problems

-real world problems to solve for both types of problems

Every lesson is differentiated with support and challenge ideas. You'll also find lots of higher order thinking questions to help students truly understand the concepts.
