Introduce and consolidate 3rd grade arithmetic patterns - finding the missing number in a fun and engaging way! Covers CCS (3.OA.D.9), perfect for math centers, distance learning/e-learning, small group, targeted instruction but could also be used as whole-group instruction as well. No-prep. Assessment included. Google Classroom ready.

Concepts covered: 3.OA.D.9

Identify arithmetic patterns and explain them using properties of operations. 

Students will:

  • explore a wide variety of different arithmetic patterns, involving addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • find missing numbers
  • continue arithmetic patterns
  • identify and explain pattern rules

These resources meet most 3rd grade curriculum expectations but could also easily be used for revision or an introduction to division in other grades.

There are many activities in this resource. It is designed to be broken up into a number of different lessons. You could also pick and choose activities to best meet the needs of your students (differentiate).
