Description

It can be hard to think of activities on the spot that will get your kids outside and exploring. Whether you are a parent looking for some fun ideas for your kids at home or a teacher looking to get your class outside, these Backyard Activity Cards are perfect for you!

What is included with the resource:

  • 4 pages of task cards to be cut out for a total of 24 cards

Why use this resource?

Nature-based play is an incredible learning experience for developing children. However, it can be hard to figure out different activities to do with your children. Most people find it hard thinking of no-material, no-cost, activities that get kids outside and learning -- all while having fun. These cards take the guesswork out of them. They are a perfect tool for your kids to become more independent and figure out activities to do on their own. Almost all of the activities can be done safely in your backyard without supervision (depending on the age of the children).

How to use this resource:

First, print and cut out the 24 cards. I'd recommend laminating them and storing them on a key-ring. Whenever you are struggling to think of ideas that will keep your kids busy, pull a card! You can also give the cards to your children and have them discover activities on their own. All tasks are simple enough and have descriptions.
