Description

Do your students mix up subscripts and coefficients? Or get confused on counting the atoms on each side? Even if you have examples written on the board?! Banging your head against the wall feels more productive when class goes this way. Which is why I created these balancing equation doodle notes that explain the concepts your students need to know step by step.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After Buying the Balancing Chemical Equations Doodle Notes...
  • Students will be able to understand the difference in coefficents and subscripts
  • You won't have to explain how to count the atoms on the reactant and product sides 321 times because students will have an illustrated, color coded and diagramed version of exactly how to balance chemical equations.
  • Students will see reactants vs products clearly labeled and explained in a way that makes sense to them.
  • Students will understand conservation of mass because of the full page illustrations (not to mention the one they do themselves).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Page 1- Students learn the anatomy of a chemical equation including products and reactants. Students also learn the difference in coefficients and subscripts through detailed illustrations.

Page 2-Gives students a visual explanation of the law of conservation of mass. At the top of the page students are given an illustration. At the bottom of the page students come up with their own illustrated explanations.

Page 3-Gives students visual practice problems on seeing and showing why equations must be balanced. If you just want students to ONLY practice drawing out balanced equations, see this listing.

Page 4-Gives students practice counting atoms on the reactant and product sides. Problems get more difficult as students go down the page.

Page 5-Provides entertaining illustrations for synthesis, decomposition, single and double replacement reactions. Students will be able to relate to the dating analogies (Okay, there will be a few snickers.).

Page 6-10- These are answer keys that are colored in and provide detailed answers for you to explain and grade the lesson faster.
