Description
Basic Inquiry & Bar Graph Practice on Google Slides
13 slides including:
Class generates bar graph together based on their answers to a general inquiry - What kind of pizza do you like?
This was done at the beginning of the school year to gauge general student knowledge about graphing. Do they know how to generate basic data in a table? Can they plot a bar graph? Are they familiar with the x and y axis? Can they label them? Can they accurately plot the data on a graph? Once reviewed as a class, then again, we generate class data based on an inquiry about how they spend their free time. They take that data and plot it on the graph. The teacher can go around to see how truly skilled they are as it's one thing when they say they know how to graph but another story when they actually do it. Then, next I move to a similar slide presentation with content on line graphs (working on it). My purposes were to see what students can do from a scientific perspective so I can tailor my teaching to the class.
Included:
- 12 Google slides
- Class activity
- Individual activity
- Answer Key
- Basic Graphing Rubric
Please keep in mind that I am a science teacher with math experience. If you are a math teacher and have additional input, kindly email as keeping positive reviews is a priority. My goal is to simply save teachers time. I hope this is helpful.
