Description

Looking for a way to practice naming notes on the bass clef staff? Wanting to encourage critical thinking about pitches on the staff? This set includes 84 task cards to practice lines on the bass clef staff, spaces on the bass clef staff, lines and spaces on the bass clef staff, and extended notes on the bass clef staff (including B and C above the staff and E and F below the staff.)

Click HERE to save 20% by buying this as part of my Music Task Cards {Bundled Set}.

The set includes:

*16 task cards for practicing naming one note: Asks students to name the note, build the note with the included staff manipulatives, play the note on a barred instrument, and then create a 4-beat pattern with that note.

*24 task cards for practicing naming "words" on the staff: Asks students to name each note, name the word (like EGG, BED, etc.), to build the word with the included staff manipulatives, and to play the word on a barred instrument.

*28 task cards for practicing patterns: Asks students to read the rhythm pattern, name the notes in the pattern, write the pattern on the included worksheet, and play the pattern.

*16 task cards to encourage critical thinking: Asks students questions like "Which note comes after G? How do you know?" and "What is the relationship between the bass clef and treble clef?" These cards ask students to think deeply about the relationship between solfa and letter names, and the relationship between clefs and notes. Note: There are some duplicate cards from the treble clef task cards, with a different design, so that students could think through the same question in different clefs.

All cards come in color and black and white. I have also included different versions of spelling, like for so and sol.

*Staff manipulatives: Can be used to build the pattern on the staff. Includes a staff with a bass clef as well as circles to cut out and put on the staff.

*Bass clef worksheet: Includes four staves on which students can write patterns from the task cards.

*Directions: Includes directions for preparing the cards, suggestions for use, and suggestions for differentiation.

Love this. I wish the xylophone would be editable for a different instrument, since we don't have any. Thanks!
