My students LOVE reading about the beach! Students use their knowledge about nonfiction text structure to read a brief paragraph and match it to its corresponding text structure. This activity includes compare & contrast, description, problem & solution, cause & effect, and sequence.
Just print, cut, and play! I used this in literacy centers, but it could be used as a formative pre- assessment or even adapted as a post- assessment.
