🎯 When to Use Frequency Data Collection
Frequency data collection involves counting the number of times a behavior occurs within a specific time period. This method is most appropriate when:
- The behavior has a clear beginning and end
- The behavior can be accurately counted
- You need numerical data for IEP documentation or progress reports
⚠️ When NOT to Use Frequency Data
Frequency tracking is not recommended when:
- The behavior occurs at an extremely high rate (e.g., repetitive pencil tapping)
- The behavior lasts for extended periods of time (e.g., long tantrums or shutdowns)
