This unit includes lessons over:
- 11.1 Biodiversity Loss and Extinction
- 11.2 The Value of Biodiversity
- 11.3 Threats to Biodiversity
- 11.4 What Is Being Done to Preserve Biodiversity?
The following products include google forms for each lesson, notes, vocabulary quiz, unit study guide, and a unit test. Included with the vocabulary quiz and test are links to blooket games for students to play and study. The notes for the teacher and the student guided notes are the FREE Bonus product in this bundle. It will download as a Power Point. If you want to use them as google slides just upload it to your google drive and when you open the notes it will prompt you to save it as Google Slides.
I usually have the students write the vocabulary list in their notebook, then we spend one day on each lesson. After that we play the vocabulary blooket and take the vocabulary quiz. Finally we complete the study guide, play the test blooket and finish up with the unit test.
Each assignment is made with google forms. These google forms completely grade themselves. When you purchase the unit you will get copies of each google form. You will then be able to add, delete, or edit the questions on the form any way you see fit.
Students LOVE blookets, they can log in with their google account and earn blookets as they play games. Blooket has several game modes to choose from so students are constantly kept motivated to do well on the game.

Unit Lesson Plans
Day 1 - Teacher will either print the vocabulary list or share a picture of the vocabulary list in the google classroom. Students will write the vocabulary words and definitions in their science notebook. With free time students can play the vocabulary review game either through the smartboard or on their own through the google classroom.
Day 2 - Present L 1: Biodiversity Loss and Extinction teacher notes slides on the smartboard while the students fill in their lesson one guided notes handout. After lesson one notes are complete the teacher will assign L 1: Biodiversity Loss and Extinction google form as classwork or homework in the google classroom.
Day 3 - Return lesson 1 google form so students can see what they missed. Present L 2: Value of Biodiversity teacher notes on the smartboard while the students fill in their lesson two guided notes handout. After lesson two notes are completed the teacher will assign L 2: Value of Biodiversity google form as classwork or homework in the google classroom.
Day 4 - Return lesson 2 google form so students can see what they missed. Present L 3.a.: Biodiversity Threats teacher notes on the smartboard while the students fill in their lesson two guided notes handout. After lesson 3.a. notes are completed the teacher will assign L 3.a.: Biodiversity Threats google form as classwork or homework in the google classroom.
Day 5 - Return lesson 3.a. google form so students can see what they missed. Present L 3.b.: Biodiversity Threats teacher notes on the smartboard while the students fill in their lesson two guided notes handout. After lesson 3.b. notes are completed the teacher will assign L 3.b.: Biodiversity Threats google form as classwork or homework in the google classroom.
Day 6 - Return lesson 3.b. google form so students can see what they missed. Present L 4: Preserving Biodiversity teacher notes on the smartboard while the students fill in their lesson two guided notes handout. After lesson four notes are completed the teacher will assign L 4: Preserving Biodiversity google form as classwork or homework in the google classroom.
Day 7 - Return lesson 4 google form so students can see what they missed. Students complete the vocabulary crossword puzzle. The teacher may choose to grade the student notes on this day or after the unit. If students have free time they may play the vocabulary review game together.
Day 8 - Teacher will assign the vocabulary quiz google form through the google classroom. Then students may begin working on their unit study guide google form.
Day 9 - Students complete and turn in the unit study guide. The teacher may choose to go over the questions that students missed the most or play the study guide review game together.
Day 10 - Unit Test google form assigned through the google classroom.
