Description

Students will enjoy exploring numbers in 🧩solving box puzzles. This is a great way to explain the Commutative and Associative Properties. Students will experiment with different numbers, when one number is a zero, using fractions, integers, subtraction, multiplication, and boxes of different sizes. (If your students haven't yet learned integer operations, just delete sides 6 and 7.) They will then use a drag and drop activity with animals to help understand conceptually why box puzzles work. This leads to an explanation of commutative and associate properties and ends with the student creating their own box puzzle.

Includes a Teacher Key, Video Instructions, and a foldable for the interactive notebook.
