Building Powerful Mathematicians in First Grade: a sequence of addition word problems focussing on Fast Five relationships. These problems are crafted to help your mathematicians recognize friendly and benchmark numbers as well as use the strategies outlined in the Progressions document of the CCSSM. Students are expected to engage multiple strategies as they progress through the problems. Additionally, students share and support their strategies.
