Using CUBES as a problem solving strategy to analyze what the question is asking is the first step in building proficient problem solvers in math. This problem solving resource is perfect for your interactive math notebooks or math journals. It contains 2 different journal activities for problem-solving using the CUBES strategy – one for the whole CUBES strategy and one for finding clue words in word problems. Both entries contain full sets of instructions, examples, pictures, and two versions of the student templates.
