Hi there!
I created this centre because I wanted a CVC encoding centre that was also self-checking! There are two levels of difficulty. The first two photos in the product thumbnails show the easier version where the letters you need to complete the mat are already there and the students can put them in the box at the bottom before they begin. Once they build the word, they can remove the circle in the “Check It” column to check their answer!
The photo to the very right shows a more difficult version, where the students need to hear and build the 3 CVC words without the support of the letter options already there!
I placed the mats on a cookie sheet, used magnetic letters and attached magnetic dots on the backs of my checkmark circles to make this centre more tactile. Using magnetic letters and dots on a cookie sheet also keeps the mat in place as the students work
