Description
Children will learn about rhyming words in this easy to read rhyming book.
Each page consists of CVC rhyming words and basic sight words to help children read independently:
the, is, on, in, can, has, a, all
Be sure to point out or have children identify the rhyming words (I have my students circle the rhyming words). Discuss how the words rhyme because they have the same ending sounds (I have students underline the ending part of the 2 rhyming words on each page).
If children are not yet able to read the words, encourage them to use the picture clues and beginning letter sounds to try to read the words.
*Have children try to come up with their own rhyming sentence on the last page.
