Description
Students can work with a partner or use as an independent center activity.
To give students practice using capitalization rules, provide each child with a large sheet of construction paper and a copy of the card sheet. Students cut the cards apart and glue the larger cards across the top of the construction paper. They will be the headings for the sentence sort.
Students read each numbered card and decide if the sentence contains a capitalization error. If he/she finds an error, he/she circles it on the card and glues it in the appropriate column. If no capitalization changes are needed, glue the sentence under the “Correct” heading.
Blank cards are used to create their own examples.
Students can compare charts with each other to check their work.
